Our story

Meet Denise Lockhart, Founder & Principal Designer

I’m Denise Lockhart, Principal of All Design Co. In March 2013, I embarked on a new journey, transitioning from a 20-year career in fashion design to the captivating world of interior design. After completing my interior design course and fueled by a desire for innovation, I took the plunge and founded All Design Co. Starting small, I initially worked on projects referred by friends and family. Through word of mouth and client referrals, my business blossomed, enabling me to design residential homes, with a focus on renovations, ranging from small-scale transformations to expansive projects.

Over the past decade, I’ve cultivated a team of trusted trades and suppliers, fostering a collaborative environment. Additionally, I invested in my professional growth by completing a Cert 4 Project Management Practice, enhancing my skills in scheduling and design management.

Where to from here?

Discovery Call

The primary purpose of a discovery call is a free 20 minute chat to introduce eachother and discuss your project in brief and how my services align with your requirements and assess if we are a good fit for working together.

After the call, should you wish to proceed I will email you a Booking request for an Initial Consultation.

Stage 1 Initial Consultation

The Initial Consultation is undertaken onsite at the premises (if practical). It is an opportunity to meet you in person and get to know you, your family, lifestyle, any particular preferences you have for style/themes, walk through your project either physically or with floorplans you may have and discuss your design needs and expectations of engaging an interior designer.

At All Design Co. we find this an important stage of the process as it builds a personal connection, trust and an understanding of our clients’ needs and tastes.

Stage 2 Project Commencement & Concept Design Overview

Upon acceptance to proceed as per the Fee proposal, we proceed onto Stage 2 which involves a detailed scope of work and create a design concept that aligns with the client’s vision.

I gather inspiration through mood boards, color palettes, and style references.

Included in this stage (if applicable) is evaluating the available space and create a scaled floor plan (not for construction).

Stage 3 Design Development

In Stage 3, the design process advances by finalizing the ideas from Stage 2, encompassing Finishes, Fixtures, Furniture & Equipment.

This phase involves initiating quotes, a trade day, and a shopping trip if needed.  Stage 3 marks a crucial transition from conceptualization to the practical execution of the design plan.

STAGE 4 Design Management, Procurement and Completion

In this final Stage, All Design Co. to oversee design related aspects to ensure design outcomes are met and on schedule. 

It involves necessary corrections, the final reveal and the review of the completed project.

Project Closure and Documentation handover is the final step where we finalise all financial and contractual matters and provide the client with final finishes schedule and documentation, including warranties and maintenance instructions.
